Inside the Dollhouse
When private investigator Conrad Marshal steps into what he believes is an underage brothel, his mission to find missing children quickly spirals into a nightmare he never anticipated. Instead of young runaways, he discovers individuals trapped and drugged, bearing an unsettling resemblance to lifeless dolls. Surrounded by guards, these victims are confined against their will. As Conrad reaches out to the FBI and his friends in Santa Cruz for assistance, his plan to distance himself from the harrowing scene falters. Instead of moving on to his next case, he finds himself caring for a traumatized young man named Taylor Owens, who clings to him in desperation.
Despite Conrad’s attempts to maintain emotional boundaries, an undeniable connection builds between them, forcing him to confront the complexities of their situation and the emerging bond that complicates his life further. He’s the only one that Taylor will communicate with meaningfully, and Taylor is supposed to be the next “chosen” of the group by the nefarious people who were holding them. There’s more than just a brothel in the Dollhouse, and now Conrad has to figure out what is really going on.
